I’ve been working with Crystal since 2002, at age 17, when I recorded a 5 song demo to get gigs when she moved to Chicago. This recording Crystal Bowersox + Frankie May (bass) live in the studio were demos to show producers of American Idol Track/Mix/Master 20 songs. She picked 5 of these songs to release. I thank her for that. Some of these where also played on the radio during that time because she didn’t have any other recordings. I know “Holy Toledo” for sure. I was playing drums with Frankie May and Ben Barefoot of The Hand Shakes at that time. So we would be at the bar gigging and following American Idol on the TVs there.
